Former ATOMKRAFT Guitarist Working On Animated Movie
January 19, 2009Former ATOMKRAFT guitarist Rob Matthew is currently working on an animated feature about the group's early days. He says, "In total, the project covers the very beginning of the band up until the end of the first tour in 1985. it is called 'Atomkraft: The Movie' [and is] a humorous look at a young metal band's early history. It is made all the more interesting as we, ATOMKRAFT, were privileged to be in the thick of the heavy metal action during the 1980s, with tours, gigs, incidents and general hanging out with bands like SLAYER, VENOM, EXODUS, METALLICA, TESTAMENT... It all makes for a good story and I have told it in my own way of cartoon and illustration. The movie is being uploaded in stages each month more will be uploaded until all fifty episodes are online. This has been a mammoth project for me but also a really enjoyable one. Look out for animated VENOM performing 'Black Metal', SLAYER live at the Marquee 1985 and EXODUS."

Matthew added, "I have also formed a new band called DETHKREID and we have recorded a new album entitled '13'. I have, for the first time, taken on the role of lead singer and have found to mine and everybody else's surprise that I may have a good metal singing voice here. DETHKREID are rehearsing for some British dates now. The band is Rob Matthew (vocals and guitar),Duncan Ferguson (bass and keyboards) and Ian Beresford (drums). The new buzzword for metal in Britain is 'trad metal.' I think this would describe DETHKREID very well."
